Turn on the Light
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. (Isaiah 9:2; Matt. 4: 16)
When an individual who has lived in the darkness of sightlessness is suddenly given sight they are often fall into great depression and fear. Others when given the light of sight are so excited, they cannot keep silent, telling everyone what happened to them. A good example of the latter is when Jesus healed a blind man he exclaimed, “… one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see” (John 9:25).
Now, looking at the spiritual, imagine a whole nation living in spiritual darkness. They knew the truth but denied it. They were a chosen people but rejected the relationship with their God. They walked in darkness. They emulated the world system. They did everything their God despised. But their God still loved them.
The God of eternity had determined how they could be redeemed and so, when the fullness of time was come God sent His only begotten son into the world, He who was the light of the world, to turn on the light of salvation in their soul. Upon the nation of Israel, the light of Christ, salvation in the flesh, shone upon them and they who were blind could now see. Christ has come to thee O Israel!
What about you? Have you allowed the light of life, salvation, to come into your heart so you can be saved from your sin? I pray that you have. SDW
